Wow, day one of having a website. Hello. I am very excited to see how this goes. I intend to use this platform to write about my life as it pertains to my writing but also probably to share what I'm reading and thinking about, as well as some personal tidbits.

I've got my second dissertation meeting in about two weeks time, so this week I'm working on the background stuff for my Arthurian novel. A few months ago I bought a CD of Sean Bean reading children's Arthur stories that I really need to listen to, as well as Leslie Alcock's book Arthur's Britain which I bought in the coolest second hand book shop in Portland, Maine last year. If you're ever in Portland, check out Yes! Books, you won't be disappointed. I also know that the library has access to the entirety of the journal  Arthuriana and I'd be an idiot not to explore that while I'm here.

So that's what's on the menu for now, though I'm also reading The End of Mr. Y by Scarlett Thomas, and I'll post about that as soon as I'm done. As always, I'm addicted to the news, on Twitter and through the New York Times, the New Yorker and everything from Crooked Media and the Pod Save America guys. Welcome to the liberal bubble. Ta ta for now.
